Talk about totally ripping a design off.
The daughters of
Reverend Run, aka of famed
Run DMC, have come out with their own clothing line called Pastry. Not bad...unless you start ripping off on other designs!
If I were
Johnny Cupcakes, I would tell these biyatches, "Puh-lease!" I hated people who copied my stick figure doodles in 2nd grade and I will continue to hate on people who copy to this day and beyond.
You can be inspired by a design, which everyone has been. But to blatantly steal a concept and design and art? F@ckin' blasphemy!
To which I will get on my soapbox about celebrity "designers."
Look, you are NOT a designer if all you're doing is putting this pre-existing cut of a tee-shirt with this other pre-existing form of a skirt and color matching. And you are NOT a designer if you have hired someone else to do all the sketching for you.
That is what we call styling. Hence, you are a stylist -- NOT a designer. Do not use the term designer when you haven't done what it takes to be one -- which involves creating something from nothing...and the ability to, perhaps, do your own sketching and construction. For reference, please watch
Project Runway.
Too many stylists these days posing as designers. Just stop.
